GC week 13

This past week we had thanksgiving which meant that the kids were able to go home on Wednesday and theres had have no school till Monday.  This allowed us to focus on the animals needs, and plan for December.  I redecorated the teaching barn in my free time, Alexa one of our llamas was being a little weird after eating her food, she was just walking around with her mouth open lips loose.  Since there were not any kids around there really wasn't that much that happened this week

GC week 12

The new week starts up tomorrow as well as the prep for thanksgiving. This next week is going to be strange, since some get to go home for thanksgiving while we are still working.  My off days are real boring and I actually look forward to going to work, because its something to do.  Tensions at the intern house are at an all time high, but we are just holding together.  GC has cut down on the sugars in their food again, it's sort of like eating the same foods over and over again, the very basics of food is served. Its all for the kids health be cause they want all the kids to be a healthy weight but with out physical extrusion there only so much that food will do.

Green Chimneys week 11

This week off I had a kid (one of my favorites) ask me like he does every time he sees me if I was taking him to his learn and earn, I normally say "what day do we do your learn and earn?" and he gets gloomy and says "Tuesday".  But today I said "yes right after lunch" and he proceeded to tell everyone around him that he was going to the farm. the rest of the week was pretty much the same as nothing else stood out.

Green Chimneys week 10

this past week, I worked on my own at the farm, my coworker went home for family reasons, and while it was relaxing to not have to check in to see what was done and what hasn't been done it also took me an hour longer than normal. I had caught the stomach flu earlier in the week and it made the rest of my week pretty wonky.  There's been a few meeting about some of the students here all of which are serious and concerning, but seeing the responses to it varies even when everyone decides on the same thing to do.  I am interested to see if there would be a way to have everyone keep the same interests in mind.

Green chimneys week 9

This past week has been quite hectic, with getting the kids ready for Halloween and the campus ready as well.  Each student here has a different point in which they can enter crisis, as you can imagine Halloween sends kids into that crisis.  This can happen at any time making it a crazy scenario of no where.
